iNaturalist (led by the Canadian Wildlife Federation along with Parks Canada, NatureServe Canada, and the Royal Ontario Museum in Canada) is a useful website for recording and identifying invasive species observations. With iNaturalist you can submit photos and locations of species observed in nature, and other users can verify or help figure out what that creature in the photo is. Organizations such as the Government of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre can use these observations to understand where organisms occur across the globe.
iMapInvasivesThe Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre no longer provides administration support for iMapInvasives in Saskatchewan. The iMapInvasives platform will continue to run, however there will be reduced functionality for Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is currently exploring potential invasive species data management platforms.
Aquatic Invasive Mussel Monitoring ProgramThe Government of Saskatchewan’s Aquatic Invasive Mussel Monitoring (AIMM) Program is a great way for the public to help support monitoring efforts for aquatic invasive species. Find more information about the AIMM Program or participate in monitoring Saskatchewan waterbodies from the Government of Saskatchewan Aquatic Invasive Species - Prevention and Monitoring page.
If you find evidence of invasive zebra or quagga mussels, or other prohibited aquatic invasive species, please call the 24-hour TIPP line at 1-800-667-7561 or report online.
